What is Tripp?

Tripp is an app (operated by Transport Innovations Limited, a technology company) that allows private car drivers to connect to commuters (riders) and vice versa within the Lagos metropolis for ride sharing/car pooling purposes.

Is there a separate app for drivers other than this one?

No, both Drivers and Riders connect via same App. The only difference is that Drivers have to sign-up a car. However, a Driver can also be a Rider if he is not using his car.

Is Tripp service available outside Lagos?

Community
Can I contact a driver privately?

For your safety and safety of others, we encourage all communication to go through the Tripp App. However, you can contact a driver privately only if you are on a confirmed ride with the Driver.

Fare
How is my fare calculated?

Fare is calculated based on both distance and class of car you are riding in.

Payment
I am a driver, how do I get paid?

Drivers are paid on Tuesday every week for all previous week earnings.

Can I pay with cash when I use the service?

No. Presently, you can only use debit/credit cards or the Tripp Wallet attached to your user account on the Tripp App.

Can I pay for other passengers?

Yes. Presently, you can pay for other users (passengers) by having them enter your debit/credit details on their User account payment page (we do not encourage you to do this as there are fraud risk attached to this practice). Preferred way to pay for other users is to transfer funds to their Tripp wallet attached to their Tripp user account using their unique Tripp I.D number.

Pickup
Why does the driver not pick me up from my house or office?

Tripp is a ride sharing app, hence the end destination and route/itinerary is determined by the Driver's destination and route/itinerary.

What if the car does not show up?

The Tripp App has an innovative system of alerts to know when a driver is not going to show up and will alert you 15 -30 mins to the confirmed pick up time and re-route your ride to other suitable drivers.

Proxy
Can I book a ride for other people, such as friends or family?

Yes. You can achieve this by booking the ride and listed their Tripp User I.D as the Rider. You also have to state it clearly as a message to the driver.

Security
How do I identify the car or the driver?

You can identify the car and Driver by their picture of the cars on the driver's profile. Also, you can identify the driver by the photo on their profile.

How do I identify my riders?

You can identify riders by the photo on their profile or via the various pick-up/proximity alert on the Tripp App.

What do I do if the driver's profile photo is different from the person driving?

DON'T BOARD THE SAID CAR until you have confirmed the reason why the photo is different. You can do that by reaching out to the Tripp Customer Center or calling the driver directly to ascertain why the photo is different. Tripp operates a strict policy on change of profile photo hence there must be a serious reason why the profile photo is different from the person driving.

What do I do if the rider's photo is different from the person I am about to pick up?

DON'T PICK-UP THE RIDER until you have confirmed the reason why the photo is different. You can do that by reaching out to the Tripp Customer Center or calling the rider directly to ascertain why the photo is different. Tripp operates a strict policy on change of profile photo hence there must be a serious reason why the profile photo is different from the supposed rider.

What do I do when the car breaks down?

Not to worry. Tripp will re-route another car to pick you up and continue your journey. Tripp will arrange for the car to be towed to a repair facility or a Auto Specialist to fix the car on the spot.

What do I do if someone tries to assault me or rob me in the vehicle?

BE CALM. If you can, shout for help (only if a dangerous weapon is not held to you). Never resist an attacker with a GUN or dangerous weapon if you not a trained security personnel. Don't resist if the intent of the attacker is to steal material items in your possession (they MAY be possible to replace). Activate the Emergency button on the Tripp APP and we will alert the Authorities, locate your position and activate security and emergency first responders.

What do I do if the driver changes route or drives past my drop-off point?

Calmly let the driver know your concern. If he ignores your complaint or does not correct course or acts aggressively, please activate the emergency button on the Tripp App.

Am I at risk at a Police search-and-stop?

No. At a Police checkpoint, be calm and allow the driver engage the Police. If the driver seem like he/she is in trouble based on a legal infraction (wrong driving etc), please alert the Tripp Customer Center to re-route another pick-up car.

Sharing
Why do I have to share the seats with other persons?

The Tripp service is ride share for social impact, hence "Sharing" is a key attribute of the service. Each driver picks up Riders (passengers/users) based on the available (empty) seats in their car as they ride to their various destinations. You will have to share the cars and the seats in the cars so that everyone can ride together to get the intrinsic value of sharing as a way of socially and environmentally impacting your community in a positive way.

How do I sign up?

You can sign up to the Tripp service by downloading the Tripp App and following the sign-up process.

After I sign up, what's next?

After you sign-up, input your payment options/details on the "payment page" of the "settings" sections of your profile on the Tripp App. Then book your Next itinerary/destination as a Driver OR request for a ride as a Rider.

Social Cause
How do I sign up for a Social Cause?

Go to the "Social Causes" page on the "Settings" sections and "Subscribe" to any or all of the Tripp Social Causes©. After your subscription, you will be alerted to the category of riders needing your help/assistance on the Social causes to which you have subscribed whenever they need a ride that matched your itinerary.

What do you mean by Social Cause?

At Tripp we believe that sustainable development is better achieved when everyone has an opportunity to contribute to the solution. In respect to the Tripp Social Causes©, a Social Cause is an activity that if more and more people commit to, can result in the reduction or better still elimination of a particular social or environmental issue in our comunity. Presently, the Tripp Social Causes© is focused on maxing everyone's support for help/assistance in providing easy access to good transportation services for People With Dissabilities (PWDs), Pregnant Women and Students.
